Dr Martin Slayne is VP of Global Scientific and Regulatory Affairs at Ingredion. He is responsible for global regulatory compliance, enabling innovation and business growth. Prior senior executive positions heading up global scientific and regulatory affairs, compliance, food safety and nutrition organizations at The Hershey Company, Mondelez International and PepsiCo.
Martin is a leader on global government engagement programs and cross-sector collaboration, including past roles as Regulator on food and feed legislation at the European Commission in Brussels, UK Food Standards Agency and Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in London.
Martin has a PhD in Microbiology, University of Wales College of Medicine, UK. He has a passion for advocating scientific truth, cross-sectional communication on food issues, transparency, regulatory simplicity, and building consumer trust. A strong advocate for environmental sustainability, spare time chairing his community environmental commission.
